Alzheimer's statistics are soaring with each passing year. Nearly one in ten people over the age of 65 have
Alzheimer's disease. With that said most of us will have direct contact with or know someone who has Alzheimer's
disease. Sadly, in October of 2003 we lost Mr. Bill Musser to this terrible disease. It is in Capt'n Bill's
honor and memory that the annual "A Day to Remember" tournament and family festival is held. "A Day to Remember"
is a 4 person volleyball tournament and family festival that benefits the Wilmington branch of the Eastern North
Carolina Alzheimer's Association.
Our event promises to have something for everyone! Besides the volleyball tournament we have pony rides, local
mascots, clowns, inflatable slides, vendor tables, face painting and much more! The cost to enter the volleyball
tournament is $100.00 a team in advance, $125.00 the day of the event. Divisions for all skill levels are
offered and each participant receives a tournament t-shirt and goody bag. A Chinese auction and prize raffle
are also held. Mark your calendar to be a part of "A Day to Remember."
